Coming Soon: Student IDs

Putnam City Families,

Safety is one of our highest priorities, and we are taking another step to protect every student. Beginning Tuesday, October 20, students IDs will be a required part of the school day districtwide.

Why Student IDs? They help us quickly identify students, know who belongs where, and streamline several processes with verification on and off buses (working with the My Ride K-12 app), accounting for meals in our cafeterias, and checking out materials in our libraries.

Here’s the quick version:

  • Every student receives their first Student ID, ID holder, and lanyard at no cost.

  • Kindergarten – 5th grade students wear their Student ID on the district-provided lanyard outside of their clothing and around the neck at all times, and teachers will collect and hand them out each day. Bus riders will have a second ID for their backpack.

    • Pre-K Student IDs will be held by teachers and only used in the cafeteria and library.

  • Middle and high school students must wear their Student ID on the district-provided lanyard outside of their clothing and around the neck at all times on campus and at school events.

  • Safety comes first, but no student is ever denied a meal, transportation, or any service needed because of a missing ID. Students without an ID will receive a dated temporary sticker. Repeated offenses for secondary students will follow the procedures in the District Regulation.

  • Lost or damaged IDs can be replaced for $3.

Families and students can find more information by visiting our Student ID website. For personalized or specific questions, please reach out to your school’s administrative team.

Thank you for partnering with us to keep our campuses safe, secure, and ready for learning.

Go Boldly,
